• · • · 1102 * T / 6 Tamping picks. The invention relates to a Stopfpickei according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a tamping pommel is already known from EP 1 329 554 A1. The entire plate front and back of the pimple plate are covered with carbide tips. In the area of the plate side surfaces cylindrical cemented carbide inserts are provided, which are positioned in corresponding holes of the picking plate. The object of the present invention is now to provide a stuffing pick of the type mentioned, which can be produced efficiently and at the same time has a high abrasion resistance. This object is achieved with a tamping pick of the generic type by the features stated in the characterizing part of claim 1. Such an armor leads to an optimal protection of the hard metal pads in the end area. When welding, the use of different electrodes is possible, whereby different, abrasion-resistant materials can be applied. Even after very long periods of use of the stuffing tamp any repairs and repairs to the armor are easy to perform. The lifetime of the stuffed pot is thus significantly increased overall. A tamping machine 1 shown in Fig. 1 consists essentially of a supported on rail chassis 2 on a track 3 machine frame 4. The armoring 17 connected to the rear side 13 of the plate is positioned in a section 21 immediately following the lower edge of the plate 10 (FIG. 3). FIGS. 4 to 7 show a tamping pick 5, the armor 17 of which is arranged on the plate front and rear side 12, 13 being connected by a lateral armoring 22, which is connected in each case to the side surface 11 of the plate. This also extends beyond the areas 23 of the plate front and back 12, 13 adjoining the plate side surfaces 11. The side armor 22 also formed from weld beads 24 are milled so that they form a common plane 26 with side surfaces 25 of the hard metal supports 14.
